Anna Maria Niolu's Obituary
Anna Maria Niolu
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Anna was born February 24, 1927 in Munich, Germany, and died April 29, 2009 near Everett, Washington. The youngest of seven children, she spent her youth in Munich, Bavaria. During WWII she worked in a grocery and survived bombings and occupation. She worked for the postwar government and met future husband, USAF Sergeant "Benny" Niolu, whom she married in 1951. They had three sons and traveled across the world. During this time Anna raised her sons and instilled a strong sense of family. She also contributed to volunteer organizations. In 1967 the family moved to Tacoma, where Anna could live near sister Rosi. She worked, participated in PTA, and Sons and Sisters of Herman Lodge where she was a President. She helped her sons graduate from college after Benny passed away in 1975. Anna received an AA degree from Pierce College in 1981. Anna was known for her fierce devotion to family and friends, fearlessness, openness, and kindness to people. She loved her pets and garden and spent many hours there. We will always love and greatly miss our loving Mom! She is survived by sons Raymond, Tony and Ken, daughter-in-law Deborah, Ken's partner Jerry, grandsons Gianni and Dominic, and relatives and friends worldwide. A private memorial service will be held Monday at Mountain View Funeral Home.
