Anna Marie Pappas of Lakewood, WA was the youngest of five siblings. She and her family lived in Tachau, Bavaria, and Stuttgart, Germany. Anna met the love of her life Don W. Pappas in Stuttgart and they were married in 1957. Since Don was in the military they moved all over the world before settling in Lakewood, Washington. Her sister Cecily, lived with her family in Australia and Anna visited them as often as she could. When Don and Anna retired in Lakewood, she had a long career with the local Goodwill Industries. She had a close network of friends and was an active member of St. John Bosco Parish and their German Club. Witty, loving, spunky, and generous, Anna was loved by everyone who had the good fortune to know her. Anna is survived by her beloved niece, Judy Smith, and her family in Australia. She also leaves behind relatives in Germany and members of Don's family in the US. A funeral mass will be held for Anna at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 13, 2012 at St. John Bosco Church in Lakewood. The mass will be preceded by the Rosary at 10:30 AM and will be followed by a reception at 12:00 and interment at Tahoma National Cemetery at 2:15 PM.
