Anna Hust's Obituary
Anna Hust, born in Carson, ND, on September 22, 1924 to John and Ida (Schlenker) Zimbelman passed away peacefully on October 25, 2019 in Everett, WA.
Anna was survived by her sisters, Delores (Roseville CA) and Ruth (Yorba Linda CA); her children Rodney, Linda and Steven; her grandchildren, Sarah, Stephanie, Zachary, Hannah, Holly, Brandi and Marci; and her great grandchildren Kevin, Sidney, Colton, Rhett, Maverick, Lily, Eva, Russell, Raeden, Riley, Quincy, and Virgil. Anna would also like acknowledged the many spouses, cousins, nieces, and nephews who are also members of the family. Predeceasing Anna are her brothers, Ray and John Zimbelman; grandchildren, Casandra, Richard, and Jessica Hust; and nephews, Steven, Mark, and Matthew Zimbelman.
Anna took great pride in the work she accomplished. One of her first jobs at the Crippled Children’s School in North Dakota taught her precision and perfectionism which she carried through to all of her future endeavors. Where the children she cared for in her first job have always meant so much to her, she was also proud of the silk-screening work she performed at Tektronix in Beaverton OR and the instrument repair she performed at McClellan AFB CA. Anna worked hard to do her absolute best at each of her jobs and tried to instill that work ethic in her children.
Where Anna was a single mother raising three children, she always provided a safe environment to call home. She called on friends to help her when she couldn’t be in all the places she needed to be at any given time. Anna did find time to garden, sew, dance, sing, and play “On Top of Old Smokey” on the piano. Anna was known as “Second Verse Annie” because she was the only one who could remember the lyrics to the next verse. Anna loved to joke, laugh and try new things. She had a courageous heart and loved her family completely – even when they were arguing. Anna will always be loved and missed.
