Anitra Dezell Doyle's Obituary
Anitra Dezell Doyle, 43, of Tacoma, joined the angels in Heaven on October 21st 2019. She was born on July 25th 1976 at the Madigan Army Medical Center on Fort Lewis Army Base in Tacoma, Washington. Anitra was greeted with love by her mother Marlene, father John, and brother Quewanncoii.
In 1982, the family relocated to Oakland Army Base in Oakland California. Her prime education was at Peralta Elementary School. She met Socorro another resident at Oakland Army Base and subsequently became best friends. Courtney was welcomed as her baby sister; their closeness is unmatchable. She enjoyed playing on the boy’s tetherball team and relished in the title of MVP. She received recognition for her extensive volunteer service for the Youth Activity department at Oakland Army Base. In 1987, Anitra and her family returned to Tacoma, where she attended Stewart Middle School. At that time, she took interest in dance and playing the trumpet. In 1990, she attended Lincoln High School where she joined the ROTC - she wanted to be just like her dad. In high school she also met her first serious boyfriend, Erick.
In 1995, Anitra was enrolled in Clover Park Technical College where she and Erick welcomed their son, Erick II. Anitra loved being a mother and never missed a step watching her son grow up. She enjoyed working at Kings Manor Senior Living Community, where she was adored by residents and their family members for the care she provided. Anitra loved helping others and serving in her church at the Eastside Assembly of Believers with her mom. Over the years, she met and befriended many wonderful people that she grew to love. Anitra was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her friends and family. She loved to travel and visit family as often as she could. Anitra had a very big family with loved ones from Washington, California, Florida, and Georgia. She was a very generous woman who would give her last just to see someone smile. Anitra is very much loved by everyone that knows her and she will be missed greatly.
Anitra is survived by her son Erick McKinney II, mother Marlene Doyle, father John Doyle Jr, brother Quewanncoii Doyle (LaToya), sister Courtney Turner, brother John Jackson (Tanya), son’s father Erick McKinney (Natasha), and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday October 31st between 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Eastside Assembly of Believers. Memorial service on Friday November 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Eastside Assembly of Believers, located at 4420 E Portland Ave; Tacoma, Washington 98404.
