Anita Gustilo Borja's Obituary
Anita was born in Iloilo, Philippines to Peter Gustilo and Anita Verdeflor. She is now reunited in heaven with her parents and her eldest brother, Melville.
She migrated to the U.S. in 1977 and completed high school at Little Flower Catholic School in Philadelphia. Her first job was babysitting her brother’s children and the neighbor's kids. She took various jobs like working in a nutrition center and as a secretary in a life insurance and financial investment company. The last job she held was as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a local hospital. Eventually, she had to quit to spend more time with her family. She was a devoted wife and mom. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and other self-taught hobbies such as sewing.
Anita is survived by her husband of over thirty-two years, Manuel L. Borja, and her three children: Nina, Vanessa, A.J., and his wife Erin. She has one grandson, Ethan Lazaro. She is also survived by her four sisters and three brothers, three sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law, fourteen nieces, seven nephews, and their families.
We all loved her very much and will miss her. However, we know that it is God’s will to end the suffering in her earthly journey. He knows what is best and has a greater plan for her. May He be our refuge and our strength to lift us from the darkness of this grief to peace and joy.
