Andrew L. Smith's Obituary
Andrew Lee Smith Sr., 82, passed away on September 10, 2013 in Tacoma, WA. He was born on December 1, 1930 in Atlanta, Georgia to James and Rosalee Smith.
Andrew was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be missed beyond words. Andrew's courage, devotion and love for family will be forever in our hearts.
Andrew served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam where he served two tours of duty and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He retired from military service on July 1, 1974 as a Sergeant First Class. Following his military service, he went to work as a machinist for Boeing, retiring after 30 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Brenda; mother-in-law Juana; daughters Maritza (Mary),Etta, Rose, Bettye; sons Juan, Carlos, Jaime (Christina), Eddie (Andrea), Andrew Jr. and James; sister Jenelle and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife Samuetta, daughters Patricia and Angela; brother Richard; sisters Ruth and Frances and granddaughter Crystal.
Funeral service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Mountain View Funeral Home’s Garden Chapel. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
