Andrew Ball Query's Obituary
Andrew Ball Query (Andy), 101, died peacefully June 8, 2014, surrounded by family, and in the gentle care of Franciscan Hospice House.
Andy was born in Puyallup October 7, 1912, to Clarence and Mary Query. He spent his early years in Alderton and Sumner, graduating from Sumner High School in 1930. Andy worked as a grocery store manager in Gig Harbor and Tacoma, served two years in the army in the South Pacific during World War II, and later had a second career as a life insurance underwriter, before retiring in 1982.
He spent many of his early days skiing on Mt. Rainier, and was a lifelong fisherman, golfer, gardener, and pinochle and poker player.
Andy was pre-deceased by brothers Warren and Bud, sister Grace, and wives Dorothea and Lois. He is survived by son Dale (Kirsten) of Portland, step-daughters Jane Re’ and Debra Curtis (Rich) of Gig Harbor, brother Harold (Glenda) of Puyallup, brother-in-law George Schmidtke of Bremerton, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, in the Aspen Chapel, Monday, June 23, 2014 at 10: a.m.
