Andrew John Kezele's Obituary
Andrew John Kezele, a retired U.S. Army veteran who served for 20 years before embarking on a second career in security, died on April 30, 2024 in Tacoma, WA. He was 72 years old.
He was born in Monroe, WA and spent his childhood in the Pacific Northwest. He joined the Army after high school and had a distinguished military career that took him around the world. This included a military base near Itaewon, South Korea, where he met his wife Soon, and several extended stays in Germany. During this 20 year span, they had two children: Wayne (born in 1977) and Jessica (born in 1990).
After retiring from the Army, Andrew settled back in his home state of Washington and worked as a security guard for many years until his retirement. He and his wife were devoted to their local church for the last 30 years.
As an avid sports fan, Andrew loved rooting for his hometown teams - the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners, and Huskies. He cherished family road trips and driving cross-country on vacations with his wife and children. Andrew was also a lover of anime, novels, and old western films. Even in his final days, he day-dreamed about his next road trip and the sights he wanted to see along the way.
Andrew is survived by his two children. He was preceded in death by his wife Soon, to whom he was married for 48 years, in June 2023. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. A private family service will be held to honor his life and memory.
