Andrew Lee Hammonds IV's Obituary
Andrew Lee Hammonds IV was born on February 24, 1991 at his father’s home in Tacoma, Washington and passed away peacefully on April 9, 2019 in Seattle, WA.
He is survived by his father, Andrew Lee Hammonds III (Janet), his sister, Tiffany N. Hammonds, his mother, Laura Koenig (Tony), grandmothers, great aunts, aunts, uncles, cousins, half brothers and half sisters, all of whom will miss him terribly.
Andrew was loved for his unique, radical, rebellious, joyous attitude on life and his unerring ability to launch an F-bomb with superb accuracy and humor.
He was an artist, musician, protector and sincerely loving man. Most important of all, Andrew was the best friend you could ever have. He would share his food (especially barbeque), his home, his clothes (even his underwear, but he didn’t want them back afterward—just saying), and most importantly, Andrew would share his friends with you.
He loved animals, especially dogs and cats. Andrew would greet dogs (most beloved were akitas and pit bulls) with baby talk and they would wiggle so hard with delight that they would buckle his knees and almost take him down. A wrestling match might ensue at that point.
Andrew was so proud of his street cat, Rogue. The cat’s staredown technique would make humans, dogs, and other cats turn around and go back the way they came. Andrew cried his heart out when his cat died.
Andrew had a fantastic work ethic. He showed up to get the job done right and gained the respect of both his coworkers and his supervisors. For this reason, he was given the honorary title, Apprentice Boss.
We lost someone so unbelievably special when we lost Andrew. Our hearts are breaking, so it’s time to pull out the guitars and start tearing into our last Viking lament as we give him full honor as our fallen friend and loved one.
