Andrea "Andie" Rahal's Obituary
My number came up! I, Andrea (Kellam) Rahal, was born at home in Mission Beach/San Diego, California, on May 20, 1948, got my wings on February 22, 2019 in Tacoma, Wshaington after a strong battle with Lymphoma, but in spite of that, my life was blessed.
I have joined my parents Ed and Millie Kellam in Heaven. Mom and Pop. Halleluiah!
The reward of your faith is to see what you believed for.
Surviving me is my (twin) sister, Paula Flynn (Mike) Gig Harbor; Christian Runsvold (Al) Federal Way; and David Kellam (Donna) San Diego. I loved you guys so much!
I began my career in Accounting after graduating from Wilson High School in 1966, having gone to work for my father at Budget Bookkeeping Service, for 21 years - second phase, 24 years with Precision Pattern Inc.; pausing for a few months to deliver Jen April 21, 1969 and Adam April 21, 1972 (within the same hour!) I retired in January 2011. To me, retirement meant free time to work on specialized family photo albums or coin collecting or cross stitching or gardening, or remodel projects; and my personal favorite, visiting the Grandkids. Spoiled by my adoring husband (Bob) and free to just enjoy every new day.
“Whatever you want, hon.” “It’s up to you, hon.”
In addition to my siblings, I am survived by my much loved and loving husband Bob Rahal (of 18 years); my beautiful daughter Jennifer Poskie (Tacoma); my handsome son, Adam Pospychala and awesome daughter-in-law Chaundra (Spokane). Much loved Step-children Reneé Sedlak (Jeremy) (VA); Rochelle Rahal (Kristi) (Lacey); Robin Matt (LA); Rae Ellen Holberg (Richie) (VA). Grandchildren: Calder Kellam Pospychala; Kazjmira Alta Pospychala; Rylee; Dylan; Kainoa; Kalea; Gavin; Graysen; Brayden; Blake, Brynn and Baylor…all equally loved by “Gramma Andie.” To my dear friends and extended family; nieces and nephews; special ladies Trese Rogerson, Connie Henderson (Dean) and lifelong friends: Janice Heistand, Cindy Wetzel; and Ginger Bowers. I loved you all.
I chose to be cremated with my ashes tossed into Deep Lake at Millersylvania State Park by my family on some blue sky day. Reminder to family: check the wind direction so you don’t wear me home!
Memorial planned for Friday, March 8, at 3:00 p.m. in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom, Blvd. SW, Lakewood, a reception will follow in the Oak Room. Please join in to celebrate... "It was a wonderful life”! Please dress comfortable. Donation suggestions: The Children’s Home Society, Alzheimer’s Assoc., or Bread for Life, in lieu of flowers.
Bye for now, and I’ll meet you at Calder’s star another day. XO
Please honor the life and memory of Andrea by leaving cherished memories, messages & photos for her family on the tribute wall. It is well appreciated.
