Amy Parks' Obituary
Amy Leona Foss, Young, Parks Amy was born December 25th, 1920 in Tacoma, Washington and passed away November 25, 2011. She lived all her life in Tacoma. Amy graduated from Lincoln High School in 1939, and later graduated from Knapp's Business College. She worked 20 years with the Federal Government as a clerk typist. During her whole life Amy had a passion for music, singing in the choir at Lincoln and throughout her life in various singing groups. Recently she sang with the Memory Singers and the Ladies Musical Group. Amy loved to travel and visited Norway on numerous occasions; also she loved motorhoming around the United States. Norway was the birthplace of her parents, Herman and Anna Foss. Amy is survived by her son Robert Young, daughters-in-law Patti Young and Linda Young, husband Bill Parks, stepson Fred Parks, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Herman and Anna Foss, who emigrated from Norway, son Chester Young, former husband Wallace Young, and Burt Mork. A special thanks to the great staff at Alaska Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center for her wonderful care over the last several months. Amy's Celebration of Life will be Saturday, December 3rd, 2011, 1:00pm, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 5236 East B Street, Tacoma, WA 98404.
