Alvina Dale's Obituary
Alvina Dale 96, passed away peacefully at her home with loved ones by her side. She was born to Ole and Susie Tryggestad on January 31, 1918 in Minneapolis, MN.
While living in the Midwest she met and married her late husband, Walter S Dale in 1936, they were married for over 55 years. Walter and Alvina moved to the Great Northwest in the 1940’s, where they started a legacy of loving families to follow. Alvina worked the majority of her career for Safeway as a cake decorator. Alvina also decorated ornate cakes in her free time for family and friends. The grandchildren have fond memories of sneaking into her buckets of frosting.
She has blessed our family with regular family gatherings. Having family at her home was what she enjoyed most.
She enjoyed cooking and baking her infamous Norwegian Cuisine, she made sure our bellies were full. New Year’s Day became a tradition that brought the family together. There she would delight in watching her grandchildren laugh and play. The Dale house was filled with love, a love she passed down to her children and grandchildren. A love that lasts forever.
Alvina was a devout Lutheran who was one of the original members of Mount Cross Lutheran church, in University Place, WA. She lived and demonstrated the word of the Lord. We have no doubts that she is in Heaven and know she is watching over us now.
Alvina was preceded in death by her husband, Walter. Dale; her daughter, Shirley Rohde; and her son, Omer Dale. She leaves behind her son, Darrel who selflessly took care of her every need; and son Larry. She also leaves behind 9 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great, Great, Grandchild.
In writing this memorial, I asked family members to describe Grandma Dale, the three common themes were; Love, Patience and Kindness.
First Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.
We love you, we will miss you and never forget you. Good-bye for now until we will be rejoined one day in heaven.
Remembrances may be shared on the tribute wall.
