Alvin Hall's Obituary
April 21, 1935 - May 7, 2020
Alvin Hall, age 85, died peacefully on May 7, 2020 in Tacoma WA.
Alvin was born in Valdosta, GA on April 21,1935 where he lived as a small child untill he moved to Sanford, FL at age 5.
Alvin entered the military at age 18 where he rose to the rank of 1st Sergeant. He served in Vietnam where he earned a Purple Heart. Alvin served honorable untill he retired in 1975. After a career in the military he attended Tacoma Community College and then PLU where he earned his Bachelors Degree. He then went to work for the WA State Department of Corrections. Most of those years spent working at Mcneil Island Correctional Center.
During his time stationed in Germany he met and married Elsa, his wife of 60 years, who sadly we lost in September of last year. They moved to Tacoma in 1960 where they raised 4 children.
Alvin loved music and sports. He was an avid Seahawks fan. You could often hear him singing or whistling around the house. He was proud of his service to his country, his home and his family.
Alvin is survived by his three daughters Linda, Kathy and Angela, son-in-law Dale, grandchildren Timothy, Jordan and Alisha, Nieces and Nephews, Barbara, Rosemary, Steven and Gregory and a brand new great grandson, Xavier. His son Robert passed away in 2017.
Alvin was a strong and proud man that is Loved immensely and will truly be missed.
We plan to have a Celebration of Life for Alvin as soon as we are able, when some of the Covid restrictions are lifted. Please Check back. A date has yet to be determined.
