Alvie E. Robbins' Obituary
Rev. Alvie E. Robbins born July 25, 1918 in Jefferson County, Alabama; passed away April 8, 2003 after a valiant struggle with cancer. One of the Â"Ghost Soldiers,Â" Alvie was a WWII veteran serving with the 6th Rangers in the Pacific Theatre. Following his discharge, he entered government services with the Bureau of Prisons, retiring in 1972. He pastored Calvary Temple in Tacoma until retiring in 1996. He also pastored churches in Salem and Kirkland.He is survived by his wife Thelma of 60 years, son Alvie and wife Shirley, daughter Catherine, grandchildren Nathan, Johnathan, Sara, Allison; nieces, and nephew.Services will be held at Abundant Life Fellowship, 5917 South Thompson, Tacoma, Saturday April 12th at 2:00 pm with graveside internment at Mt. View Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Abundant Life Fellowship, 5917 So. Thompson, Tacoma, WA 98408.
