Alrick D. Levene Jr.'s Obituary
Our beloved Alrick D. Levene Sr. was called into God’s eternal care on May 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 11, 1954, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Hazel Weekly and Alrick D. Levene Sr. Alrick was raised by his mother and Master Sergeant Clarence Williams, who inspired him to join the military.
Alrick's early years were filled with a love for fishing and participation in seasonal sports. He graduated from Frederick High School in 1972 and later pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Martin’s College in 2004 and a Master of Theology from Covent Bible College in 2012.
In 1973, Alrick enlisted in the United States Army, dedicating more than two decades of honorable service before retiring in 1996. His military career took him to various locations, including Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Frankfurt, Giessen and Heidelberg Germany; Fort Ord, California; Korea; and Fort Bliss, Texas. Throughout his service, he received numerous awards and accolades reflecting his dedication and excellence, including:
Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4th Award), Army Achievement Medal (4th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Southwest Asia Service Medal (Campaign Star), Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th Award)
After retiring from the military, Alrick continued his service to the nation by working as a Revenue Officer with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for several years, bringing his total service to the Government of the United States of America to 35 Years of loyal service.
A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Alrick enjoyed playing golf and engaging in spirited political discussions. In 2000, he met Debbra at the 4 Chaplains’ Memorial Chapel at Fort Lewis—a union truly made in heaven. On July 16, 2005, Alrick and Debbra became a blended family, joining together with their two adult sons.
Alrick was a faithful and devoted servant of God. He was an active member of the Grace Gospel Chapel Service, where he served on the Ministerial Staff, taught Bible Study, presided as President of the Usher Board, and was a proud member of the Brotherhood. He also mentored numerous chaplains assigned to the chapel, always eager to share the love and warmth of Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Weekly-Williams, and his brother, Tommy G. Levene.
Alrick is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Debbra R. Levene; his sons, Julian Levene and Quindre (Jamie) James; his goddaughter, Stacey A. Carroll; sister, Monica L. Miller; brother, Oliver Keith Broner; and his best friend, Robert Russell. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Julian Levene II, Jordan Levene, Ta’jaun James, Isaiah James, Zoe James, and Kepolani James, as well as three bonus grandchildren: Makai, Kalani, and Kalea McNear
Alrick’s legacy of faith, service, and love lives on in the many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
