Alma L Anderson's Obituary
Alma L. (Keeton) Anderson, born August 3, 1931, in Claremore, OK, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, in University Place, WA. Alma grew up in her family’s namesake town of Keetonville, OK, before eventually settling in Washington state. She lived in Puyallup and later Graham, where she spent most of her life.
Alma and her husband Walter owned and operated Valley Furnace before passing the business on to their son. She cherished sunny days at Lake Nahwatzel and Sunland, surrounded by loved ones. Known for her warmth and hospitality, Alma was the ultimate host who thrived on bringing people together—whether for a lively card game or a spontaneous gathering. Her adventurous spirit and infectious laughter left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rufus and Mary Keeton; her first husband James Smith; her husband of 58 years, Walter Anderson; two sons, Thomas D. Anderson, and Daniel S. Anderson; her sister Edna Packer; and granddaughter Ivory Anderson. Alma is survived by her daughter Deborah (Craig) Kelly, son Andrew (Teresa) Anderson, 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and two nieces and a nephew.
A celebration of Alma’s life will be held on June 13 at 12 noon at Sunrise Baptist Church, 12115 Shaw Rd E., Puyallup, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association in Alma's name.
Alma’s light will continue to shine through every shared story, joyful gathering, and cherished memory she helped create. May her legacy bring comfort to all who were blessed to know her.
