Allen Shaeffer Taylor's Obituary
Allen Sheaffer Taylor (Big Al) Passed away peacefully on Nov 22nd at the age of 84. He was born and raised in Tappahannock, VA. After serving in Okinawa the Air Force stationed him in Tacoma, WA, where he met his wife Patricia and married her 61 years ago. She survives him, along with their son Gregory Taylor, daughters Carol Taylor and Robin Anderson, and son Patrick Taylor and daughter-in-law Angela. He was preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia Peterson. He leaves 16 grandchildren, of which 2 have passed on, and 14 great-grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Anne Ubele, who resides in VA. Al was big, handsome, and athletic. He played football at the University of Puget Sound in 1956. The White Sox baseball team also scouted him, but his call to enlist in the Korean conflict interrupted. He became a Master Electrician by trade, and owned his own companies, Taylor Electric and Harbor Builders. Along with his love for his work, he greatly enjoyed boating, fishing, RV travel, and swimming. He loved his family, and brought so much adventure into their lives. He will be greatly missed by those who love him. Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 6901 224th St. E, Graham, WA, on Tuesday, Dec. 1st. Viewing at 10 am, service at 11 am, with graveside service following at Mountain View Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA.
