Allan Laursen's Obituary
Allan Elmore Laursen was called home to glory April 2, 2013. He was born May 6, 1926 in Tacoma to Bertel Louis Laursen and Marion Rice Laursen. He attended Stadium High School, and was inducted into the Navy May 6, 1944. He left the service at war’s end. He married Shirley Dodge on July 14, 1946 and they had five daughters, Cathleen Osborne (Rick), Margaret Dennis (Patrick), Karen Burnworth (John), Lois Hafford (James), and Marilee Warner (Russell). His wife Shirley and daughter Margaret preceded him to glory. In November 1991 he married Irene Cairns. He is survived by Irene, four daughters, two step-sons, 21 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
Allan’s broad career ranged from bus driver to store clerk to county health inspector and he was pastor of several churches. His driving passion was to spread the Gospel of Christ to anyone who came into his circle of influence.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Mt. Tahoma Baptist Church 5220 74th St. W. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Allan Laursen to Mt. Tahoma Baptist Church.
