Aline M Smith 's Obituary
Mrs. Aline M. Smith, 91, of Tacoma, WA was born February 16th, 1926 in Camden, Arkansas and passed away October 18th, 2017.
Aline was preceded in death by her Mother Vina Marthrel, Father Cecil Morris, and Step Father Daniel Marthrel.
Aline accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a faithful member of Mt.. Calvary Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she served tirelessly on numerous committees during her time there.
Aline was a respected member of the community, and her love of children and of people spilled over into the community, where many found her home as a place of solace.
Aline was an outstanding cook, and enjoyed the company of family and loved ones. She looked forward to routine visits from her cousins Annette, David and Vincent, her niece Mischa, and she enjoyed visits from her oldest granddaughter Amber, from the east coast and from her granddaughter Renee. Aline, enjoyed being a grandmother and she truly and dearly loved her grandchildren. “Nanny” would sit with great patience allowing her granddaughter Niani (Sissy), to comb her hair, do her nails, play “make up” and would patiently listen to Niani, talk, talk and talk while little Omari would find the candy stash, and would eat her out of house and home. Aline’s love for her grandchildren seemed to never tire and will live on forever.
Above all, Aline was a well preserved and beautiful woman her entire life, both inside and out. She was a dutiful wife and mother who loved spending quality time with her family.
Aline is survived by her loving husband
Jessy R. Smith, of 51 years who never left her side, her son Kevin Smith (“Omari”) and his wife Woodetta of Fircrest, WA, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two sister-in-laws; Joyce Tenn and Nedra Margerum, cousins, friends and other relatives. Aline will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
