Alice Victoria (Burda) Ray
Alice Ray was born February 24, 1919, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2009.
Alice was elegant and graceful and lived her life with a great deal of integrity. She was the cornerstone of our family and a loyal friend to many dear friends of many years.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edwin Ray (1916-1995) and is going to be greatly missed by her son, James Ray (Marjorie) and daughter, Donna Woolverton (Jonathan), her grandchildren: Michael Bitow, Brian Ray (Tamara), Kathryn Stephens, and Karen Price (Sean), her great-grandchildren: Anthony, Kristie, and Kayla, her nieces: Jeanine Brannigan and Anja Schmidt, her brothers: James Burda and Dan Burda, her sister Marie Perkle, and "Muffin".
Alice was an active member of the Lakewood Emblem Club #441, the Society of Military Widows, and The McChord A.F.B. AREWS Club. She was also a long term volunteer for the V.A. Hospital at American Lake. Most recently, Alice enjoyed new friends and activities at Merrill Gardens in University Place.
Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at 2:00pm at Mountain View Funeral Home, "The Garden Chapel", 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW., Lakewood, WA. Reception following.
