Alice M. Johnson's Obituary
Alice M. (Wallin) Johnson Alice Johnson, 83, of Tacoma, passed away peacefully August 4, 2002. She attended Puyallup High School and graduated from Eatonville High School in 1938. Alice made lifetime friendships during her school days and later with the people she worked with at the Bungalow Restaurant and Rhodes Department Store. She loved her State of Washington and was a patriotic American, having voted in every election for over 60 years. She cherished a special friendship with her longtime German pen pal, Jane Lohman whom she corresponded with for over 70 years. Family and friends were foremost in her life. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Chet in 1984, and brother Chuck Wallin. Survivors include her daughters Elaine Kinzel (Ron), and Gloria Sweeney, four grandchildren Douglas (Suzette) Stevenson, Shelley (Tom) Sutich, Aaron (Krista) Sweeney, and Keith Sweeney, four great-grandchildren Trace, Hanah, Tyler & Mary, two sisters Doris Hull & Jean Johnson, nieces Christine (Craig) Bogatay and Karen Hull, and an extended family of nieces and nephews and beyond to include many friends whom she considered family. Viewing will be Thursday 11:00am-9:00pm at Mt. View. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday August 9, 2002 in The Mt. View Garden Chapel. Internment will be in New Tacoma Cemetery.
