Alfred -Å"Al- F. Wooten

Al was born in Berryton, GA on June 30, 1930 and passed away November 6, 2012 in University Place, WA.
Al married his pen-pal Virginia on April 14, 1952 and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Al served in Korea in the US Army and was awarded the Bronze Star. He retired from GSA in Auburn in 1985. Al was -Å"Mr. Fix-It-. He could fix anything, and he passed along those skills to his sons as well.
Al is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Virginia, daughters Teri (Ron) DeGroote, and Fran (Rick) Winchester, sons Jim (Connie), Dan (Claire), John and Rich (LeAnn), sisters-in-law Beverly, Shirley, Carol, Jean, and Karen and brothers-in-law Ted and George, 25 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, as well as life-long friend Fred Smart.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 12 at 11:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Tacoma followed by a reception at the church. Al will be interred at a later date at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
