Alex Stebbins' Obituary
Alexander "Alex" Stebbins passed away December 3, 2021 following several years of increasing complications from prolonged illness.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tacoma, WA followed by 1:30 pm burial and memorial services at Mountain View Funeral Home on Steilacoom Blvd. in Lakewood, WA.
Alex was born January 25, 1998. He attended Skyline Elementary and Truman Middle School before graduating from Foss High School in 2017. He received many years of physical therapy at Mary Bridge Children's Health Center.
Alex liked taking drives through local parks, enjoying the sunshine in his peaceful yard, watching documentaries and listening to classical and Christian-themed spiritual music. He rarely missed the Sunday night broadcast of the Gregorian chant Compline service on KING FM radio. For many years he had a vegetable garden in his backyard and in 2013 and 2014 his tomatoes were awarded 1st and 2nd Place, respectively, at the Puyallup Fair fruit and vegetable contest. Laurie Dominguez was his gardening assistant.
Loved and respected by all who witnessed the strength and courage of his lifelong battle with afflicted health, Alex was always grateful for the comforting aid and steadfast assistance of his caregivers. He was a spiritual young man, a virtuous soul, and able to overcome great tribulations during his lifetime.
We are proud of you Alex, and thankful to God for all the love He brought into the world through you.
Godspeed young man.
Alex is survived by his parents Susan Johnson and Curtis Stebbins; sister Kelly Ostrom (Spencer); nephew Freddie Alexander Ostrom, 5 aunts and 8 cousins. Two additional cousins, Jaime Mayer (36) and Rachael Mayr (43) passed away earlier this year.
Alex received attentive care and support from a great team of dedicated caregivers over the years. We all know the great appreciation Alex had for each and every one of them.
