Alex Bretana's Obituary
Alex Bretana, Sr. Alex Sr., 81, was born August 11, 1930 in Iloilo, Philippines, and passed away on August 16, 2011. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving over 20 years, and chose Tacoma, Washington as his home. Besides being with family and friends, he enjoyed fishing, playing bingo at BJ's, watching the Mariners, and spending time at the Filipino senior citizens center. He is survived by his wife, Corazon, of 53 years; daughters Nora, Alice, Irene, and Tess; and son Alex Jr. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters, 2 sisters, 1 brother, and 3 sons-in-law. Preceding him in death are his daughter Norma, 4 brothers, and 1 sister. The viewing will be at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood on Tuesday, August 23, from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Catholic service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven in Parkland at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at church hall. Burial will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home at 3 p.m.
