Alberta "Faith" Ashworth Quisenberry
Faith was born on July 14, 1931 in Skiatook, Oklahoma in Osage County.
Her father, William Nathan Ashworth, was the first Native American ordained in the Pentecostal church. Her mother, Stella Conduff, was a nurse midwife.
Faith was the middle child of five children.
Faith graduated with honors from Bartsville High School. She then attended Bartsville General School of Nursing, graduating top of her class. She then went to work at Bartsville General and worked her way up to nursing supervisor.
Faith cared for her sister, Naomi, when she was terminally ill, suffering with Leukemia. After Naomi's death, Faith relocated to Spokane, Washington.
In 1954 she met the love of her life, Eddie Wiley Quisenberry II. They married and Eddie re-entered the Army. Their first child, Tonda, was born before Eddie went to Korea for 18 months, during the Korean conflict. Faith and Tonda went to Red Bluff, California to be near Eddie's parents, Ed and Jewel Quisenberry. They stayed in Red Bluff until Eddie returned from the war. They were relocated to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where their first son, Edward was born on October 22, 1959. Their second son, John William, followed two years later on March 20, 1961.
Eddie's military career took them all over Tennessee, Kentucky and North Carolina. They spent three years in Hawaii on Oahu after Eddie's first trip to Vietnam.
Faith went to work for Admiral McCann. She also attended the University of Hawaii maintaining a 4.0 GPA, while working full time.
After receiving orders for a second tour of duty in Vietnam, the family relocated to Federal Way, Washington. Mom went to work for Social Security. After returning from Vietnam as a highly decorated soldier, dad was assigned to Fort Lewis. After three years at Fort Lewis, mom and dad bought a house in Sylvan Park.
Mom relocated from Social Security in Seattle to the Tacoma office, where she worked until she retired.
Eddie preceeded Faith in death on January 11, 2007. Faith passed away on February 1, 2015 in Allenmore Hospital.
She is survived by her family, Tonda (Jeff) and grandsons, Jason and J.R., Edward (Julie) and granddaughter, Naphteli, and Naomi (Vail), John William (Christine) and grandsons, Zack and Josh.
