Albert (Gene) Lakin Sr.'s Obituary
Gene passed away quietly on July the 6th at the age of 86. He lived his last year at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living where he was lovingly cared for by a wonderful staff. Gene and his dog Buddy made many friends there and will be will be sadly missed.
Gene was an avid outdoorsman. He loved target shooting and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren about gun safety and how to properly handle firearms. His favorite pastimes were fishing the pools of Iron Creek with his wife Alma, and going hunting and camping with friends in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Gene would spend hours driving around in the mountains to take in the beauty of what he considered his “stomping grounds“. This is the way we will remember him.
Gene is survived by brother Alvin Lakin, sister Linda Pietras, daughters Debbie Woeck, Sue Bollinger and Cathy Hasek, son Albert Lakin Jr., stepson Dean Younce, 17 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and two more due in October. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Arvella Lakin, wife, Alma Lakin, and son, Dennis Lakin.
