Albert Charles Lagace's Obituary
AAlbert Lagace passed away peacefully on Friday, April 30, in Lakewood. Al was born in Newcomb, NY, on October 30, 1945 to Adeline Chaisson Lagace and Alec Beaudet. He served our country honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard after graduating from Fitchburg High School in Massachusetts in 1964. Al worked for Weyerhaeuser/James River in Fitchburg before working for the National Guard. He moved to Washington State in 1991, and retired from Federal Civil Service in December 2005.
Al loved all his Boston sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox, and was thrilled to witness the end of -Å"The Curse of the Bambino.- Al liked nothing more than to jump in his RV and go camping. After Al moved to Washington and became familiar with the area, he knew he had to own a boat. Al took advantage of living so close to salt water, and learned to fish for salmon and crab on Puget Sound and Hood Canal, owning four different boats over the years. Al was a master of the grill, and would cook outdoors year-round, no matter the weather. He loved to refinish wood furniture and restored the beauty to many a worn piece.
Al will be most remembered for his quick wit, constant sense of humor, sincere kindness and limitless generosity. He loved children and animals of all kinds. Al fed birds, squirrels and wild rabbits daily in his back yard, giving names to some of the wildlife he could tell apart. Al always maintained an even keel and truly was his family's and friends' firm foundation.
Al is survived by his beloved wife, Gale. He also leaves behind his sister Mary Irene Jankowski and her husband Ray, daughters, Sharon Ebbs and her husband John, Cheryl Davis and her husband Troy, and son, Lance Lagace.
