Adrian E Johnson's Obituary
Adrian was born in San Francisco and died at his current home in Tacoma where he had lived most of his life. He is survived by his wife Deanna, daughters JoTasha (Eddie) and JaPonica, son Eugene (Janet), grandchildren Angelina, Sophia, Camila, Joshua, brother Thomas (Karen), sister Regina, as well as nieces, nephews, grandnephews, a grandniece, other extended family and many dear, life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Lola B. Maxie, his father Thomas L. Johnson, and his step-mother Jacqueline Johnson.
Adrian worked in Law Enforcement for over 40 years, and for the past 28 years worked for King County Adult and Juvenile Detention as a Classification Specialist. He retired April 30th of this year.
Adrian had many passions that included family, friends, music (playing and writing), photography, art, Porsches, car shows, Forza, and Yellowstone National Park. As a youth and young man, he played in several bands. Later he won awards for music he had written. For the past few years he developed his photography and art talent and had several of his art pieces displayed several at local art studios and art shows. He also had a great passion for Porsches, belonging to the Pacific Northwest Porsche club, and proudly displaying his red 928 at local car shows. Adrian was happiest when he had many irons in the fire and was trying new things.
His greatest passion was his family and extended family that includes life-long friends. Adrian could spend hours talking with family or friends about a variety of subjects. He took great pride in the successes of his family and friends and his heart filled with joy when the others he loved were happy with their achievements, whatever that might be, no matter how great or how small.
Adrian’s greatest challenge was his heath. Over the years he had fought back many times even though the odds were against him. This latest set-back was more than his body, his spirit and his stubbornness could handle, and we are now ever grateful that he is completely healed with a new spiritual body and in the presence of our Lord and Savior in heaven.
Our hearts are filled with sadness that he is no longer with us on earth, but we are filled with great joy and happiness that we will see him again in Glory.
NOTE: The family plans a Celebration of Life for Adrian tentatively for January 19th when there will be a time for friends and family to share their remembrances about Adrian and to celebrate his life with us. Venue TBD.
