Adella M. Adams' Obituary
Adella M. Adams was born August 25, 1922, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Katie Bell (Bertha) Allenns and the late Will Miller. She was the second oldest of eleven children.On Saturday, September 16, 2006, at 2:15 p.m., God saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, he gently closed AdellaÂ's eyes and said, Â"Peace be Thine.Â"In 1954, Adella was united in holy matrimony to the late Nick Adams, Jr., whom she met in Tacoma, Washington. They were married 35 years before his passing. Adella was baptized in 1938, at Temple Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.In 1949, Adella became a member of the Colored WomenÂ's Club. She worked at Madigan Hospital as a nurseÂ's assistant from 1952 to 1959. In the mid 1940Â's, Adella joined Bethlehem Baptist Church and faithfully served as a member of the Gospel Chorus and as the card chairperson for the Willing WorkersÂ' Circle until she could no longer serve, due to her health. In passing, Adella leaves to cherish her memory, sisters: Willie B. Saunders of Los Angeles, California; Annie R. Taylor of Birmingham, Alabama; and Pauline Martin of Tacoma, Washington; brothers: Richard Smith and Herman Smith of Los Angeles, California; four daughters: Essie L. (Elwin) Wells of Moreno Valley, California; Gwendolyn (Cherry) Brown of Tacoma, Washington; Brenda K. Leach of Federal Way, Washington; and Beverlee J. (David) Parker of St. Charles, Missouri; two sons: Ernest Neil (Bonnie) Adams of Lacey, Washington and Dale M. (Cynthia) Adams of Redmond, Washington; Niece: Patricia A. Weaver of Tacoma, Washington; Grandchildren: Michael V. Miller, Charlotte F. Miller, Sondra M. Wells, Bryan E.Wells, La Trisa N. Wiltshire, Tierre J. Leach, Antwan L. Adams, Aleste M. Gaiter, Debbie L. Gaiter, Harry L. Gaiter, Jr., Marcus N. Adams, NaiKeisha M. Adams (deceased), Nick Adams III, and Shaniece A. Parker; and a host of great-grandchildren, other nieces, nephews, church family and loyal friends.
