Adele Burwell's Obituary
Adele Burwell passed peacefully on December 16, 1921 with family at her bedside. She was born November 16, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois. It was there she met the love of her life and married Nathaniel Burwell in 1943. After Nat returned from World War II, they moved to Tacoma and later to Lakewood where she stayed until his passing in 2001. They gave birth to a son Bruce in 1946, who survives her along his wife Ruth, and grandchildren, Julia and Nathan Burwell.
Adele worked for the Office of Special Investigations for 25 years at McCord Air Force base. It was there that she developed skills of organization and structure she carried with her the rest of her life. One of her last words was “do I have any appointments?”. Yes Adele, you have your last one in heaven.
Adele enjoyed boating with family and friends in Puget Sound and her knitting creations will provide us with comfort and warmth for many years to come. Growing up during the depression taught her to be frugal, yet she loved to shop for bargains.
She moved to Bellevue in 2001 where she spent the remainder of her life close to her son and his family. Adele was a warm and loving person who will be deeply missed by all of us.
