Adelbert Barry Upright's Obituary
In Loving Memory Barry Upright Surrounded by family members, Barry Upright passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2013. Barry was born in Tacoma on September 26, 1912 to Grace and A.O. Upright. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1932 and immediately went to work as a watchmaker. Barry worked at Mierows Jewelry Store until he retired in 1980. Barry married Ina May Cook in 1939. They were married 64 years before Ina's death in 2002. Dad loved sports. He played golf at Madrona Links well into his 90's, often shooting his age. He also enjoyed bowling. He was a big Mariners and Seahawks fan.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ina, a sister, Marjorie, and his brother Ralph. He is survived by his daughters Marjorie (Don) Mathews of Aberdeen, WA and Linda Snyder (Bill) Jones of Des Moines, WA; four grandchildren, Heidi (Michael) Turner of Boston MA, Kristi Jochimsen of Tacoma, Jeff Snyder of San Mateo, CA, and Stacy (Joshua) Sandberg of Portland, OR; and seven great-grandchildren, Joey, Jillian, Ryan, Nick, Natalie, Lauren and Connor.
A private service at Mountain View Funeral Home is being planned by the family.
