We will never forget our first meeting, when we moved to our new home in Edgewood in 1997 you came to greet us and brought homemade peanut butter cookies and roses from your garden. I so enjoyed Addie in my water aerobics group at Fife Pool. She was always so caring when I was going thru some medical problems. I last saw her at Hallmark Retirement Center about a month ago. She was so up and positive about going home and coming back to the pool. IT was a real inspiration to know such a wonderful Christian woman. There was such a sigh of dispair when it was announced at water aerobics that she had passed away -- she was so loved by all. We will miss her so much but know that she has deserved such a great place in Heaven after serving such a good life on earth.##imported-begin##Judy Peot##imported-end##
I was with Mother near the "end" as she prayed for Jesus to take her home. I thought she would be here till she was 102. She was ready, willing and wanting to go. A thousand thoughts and emotions run through my head having been "raised" by her and all the love by so many who "knew" her. She was steadfast in her beliefs,never yeilding, no temptations or addictions to cloud the way. Her Legacy was living her Christian life.##imported-begin##Stephen w Ressler##imported-end##
One of my most enduring memories of my grandma was of her faith. As a child I spent a week almost every summer with her. Every morning when we got up, we sat at the table together and went through her morning devotion. After the devotion she would reach out and grab my sister and my hands and we would pray together. She shared a part of herself with us that I am so thankful for.
I think of her often when I get in a car, I can almost hear her cheerful, "traveling mercies Lord!" (Before she turned the engine in her car, she always said this!)

I feel very blessed to have known Adelaide. I learned tonight that she had gone to be with the Lord, and when my husband asked me what I remembered about her, the first words out of my mouth were, "Adelaide just never changed." She was a dear friend of my grandma, Marion Holmquist, and even as a child I felt so welcomed by her, and so comfortable around her. Her sweet and constant presence around the church was a comfort to me many times, particularly after my grandma had passed away.
