Ada DiSpaltro's Obituary
Ada DiSpaltro died early on Saturday morning, December 14, 2019. It was her 85th birthday.
Ada was born in 1934 in Antlers, OK to Delcie and Raymond Wooldridge. After their divorce, she and two of her siblings went to live with their father and his second wife, Mary. She married Mike DiSpaltro in 1955, and moved with him to wherever the Air Force took them until his retirement in 1971, when they bought a home in Lakewood. After Mike died in 1975, Ada raised her two daughters, went to college, and became a library technician first at the University of Puget Sound Law School, then after it was sold, the Seattle University Law School. She retired in 2002.
Ada was known for her intelligence, her sense of humor, and her love for family and friends. A member of St Frances Cabrini for almost fifty years, she served as a Eucharistic minister and in other volunteer ministries. She was fond of word and jigsaw puzzles and could generally be found with a book in her hands at any given time. She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family.
Ada is survived by her brother Bill Wooldridge (Judy Holthe) and his children Lance and Jini (Mike) and granddaughter; her nieces and nephews Michael, Patrick, James, Mary Ann, Sam, Don, Phyllis, and Mike; and her sister Pam Thomas (Bill) and their daughter Staci (David) and grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughters Michelle (Mike) and Melissa (Keith); grandchildren Jennifer, Michael (Jen), Connor, Amelia, and Kason, and great-grandchildren Tristan, Jace, and Jaxson, as well as numerous others who have called her "Mom" over the years. She was much loved, and will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at St Frances Cabrini on Friday, Dec 20. Rosary at 10:30, Funeral Mass at 11, reception and then graveside service both at Mountain View in Lakewood.
