Abrilla E. Nordquist's Obituary
Abrilla "April" E. Nordquist Age 77, born in Hilo, HI on April 29, 1932, passed away May 6, 2009 at Madigan Army Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Monroe, sister Dee, sons Norman (Angela), Michael (Ruth), Patrick (Patricia), and Jay (Sara), daughters Monica (Jeff), Mona, and Lisa (Dana), grandchildren Russell, Marc (Elizabeth), Adam (Cassie), Lindsey (Roland), Joshua (Felecie), Melissa (Chad), Rose, Jason, Jordan, Lindsay, Hailey and Lily, and great-grandchildren Zachary, Gabriella, Harper andAubree. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister. April was diagnosed with Waldenstrom's Disease, a rare, chronic blood cancer, in 1982 and given a predicted lifespan of only two more years. However, her strong faith and positive, loving attitude carried her through 27 more years! April was a caring and committed mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife. She was a joy and blessing to all who knew her. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499, with a viewing from 12pm to 1pm and memorial service at 1pm in the Valley Chapel.
