I was just notified of Larry's passing this morning. I am so sorry to hear this news. We worked together for a very long time (longer than with any other patient!) and I admired Larry's courage and determination throughout that time. He exhibted a generous and loving heart, and never stopped talking about his devotion to his family. Being a good father and grandfather was very important to him, and I think he felt he had been successful, as he was proud of each of them and felt they had turned out to be marvelous people. He also felt safely cared for by his loving family, and was aware and grateful about what a gift it is to have that kind of family support. He told me many times what a lucky man he was, and I believe that focus on what was truly important helped him to weather some pretty difficult storms. Rest in peace, friend. You have earned it.
