Jon - I know we spoke this morning but Tom is teaching me how to use e-mail so... I just want to let you know my thoughts are with you. I was remembering when you and I went to LeMay's car show last year and how much fun it was to be with your dad and you. I will be calling you again soon (to set up a game) and until then take care of yourself.##imported-begin##Don Hagen##imported-end##
I just heard about your dad and wish to send you my thoughts and prayers. I was very fortunate to have met Fred and I know he will live in my heart for always. Take care of yourself and I am sorry I am so late in hearing the news. Best wishes. See you soon!##imported-begin##Tom Ballard##imported-end##
So sorry to hear of Fred's passing. Fred was my Auntie Lilla's sister, our optician, my high school classmate, Jim's dad. Have many photos of the Drowley's, Chafe's, Johnson's, Courtwright's and on and on. My husband Bob and I acquired a 1960 Chevrolet that was in Chuck Courtwright's garage, thank's to Fred's sister Gwen. Knowing that Fred had old cars, Bob and I drove the restored Chevy out to Fred's house a little over a year ago. Fred enjoyed seeing the Chevy and showing us his Buick's. We also shared the Sunrise Beach history book with Fred, which he thoroughly enjoyed (son John too). I was so glad we went that night! My deepest sympathy to all the family members. To the family of Fred Chafe, My mother Betty went to Lincoln with Fred & later on we both went to the medical arts building & on to Allenmore to get our glasses. What a special man he was to us. Now we continue on at northwest optical with John & Jon & would always talk about Fred & how he was doing. We will miss Fred.##imported-begin##Judy Swaleson & Betty Maughan Holder##imported-end##
