Today we say good bye and learn to live without. We will try. Today is going to be one of the roughest days of my life.
I am so very sorry for your loss. The Bible makes this comforting promise: "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted, he saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) It also assures us: "Throw your burdenon Jehovah, and he will sustain you." (Psalm 55:22) May these thoughts bring you a measure of comfort at this difficult time.
What is left to be said? Eric, you were my brother and constant friend through thick and thin. Even on the days I wanted to strangle you (so most days?) your door was always open. Our friendship was tested through fire and remained. I never knew a true friend until you and God took you home. I guess he needed a DM for an upcoming game.
I'm going to miss you so much. There is no replacing you. There'll never be another Eric. I'll hold down the fort. Way to roll a 1 on fortitude though. (You're not here to laugh at that. I think I'll miss that the most, my friend.)
