Beverly Ann Spry passed peacefully October 8, 2018, surrounded by her family. Beverly was born in Tacoma General Hospital on January 18, 1930 to parents Erling and Alice Sanders. She lived in Tacoma her whole life. A graduate of L Read Obituary
Grandma was one of the most gentle people I know. As a child I remember she would always get mildly distressed when hearing stories about animals that were hurt or harmed, and she would usually let out a hurt sounding "oh no". However, Grandma's gentleness went a step further than most and extended even to bugs. If she found a bug in the house, I recall that she would usually scoop them up and take them outside. To this day I'm always reminded of her when I see an ant inside, or anything that isn't a spider. While I'm not as tender hearted as her, I will often find myself scooping up the bug and taking it outside. I always think of Grandma as I'm doing so because it's only because of her that I would do such a thing.
On top of that, Grandma made the best food! She always made me a banana cream pie for my birthday which I eagerly looked forward to devouring. No one makes banana cream pie like she did.
I (Bowei, Tim's wife) first met with Grandma on Thanksgiving in 2014 when Tim and I were still dating. I remember that Grandma sat in her wheel chair and held my hand and gave me sweet smiles. I felt very welcomed and accepted by her. After Tim and I married, we visited her at Laurel house. Even though she didn't have a great memory she always recoginized me. We told her stories of our lives, she always sit there with her sweet smiles, listened to us and sometimes she gently said "Oh, Really?". In China, we have a saying " An elderly at home is much like having an invaluable treasure in hand". Grandma was like a treasure to us who always warmed our heart with her gentle and loving spirit.
