John James Mitchell
9/17/36 – 3/6/15
Born in Wausau, Wisconsin, passed away in the loving arms of his family. He is survived by his wife Darlene of 59 years, 2 sons, Michael (Paula) and Mark (Grace); 5 grandchildren, Dena, Chris, Brandon, Shelli and Ryan; 3 great grandchildren, Bret, Kyra and Cleo; his brother Patrick (Patsy) Mitchell. He was pre-deceased by his mom and dad and sister, Joanne. John was a retired truck driver with Teamsters Local 313 from West Coast Fruit and Produce Co., and Super Value.
John loved gardening and bragged he had 2 green thumbs. He was a square dance caller and teacher of dance in the 60’s and 70’s. He loved all the wonderful trips with Darlene to Hawaii. John was an avid hunter and so enjoyed going with his sons and hunting buddies. He had a great sense of humor and was a real practical joker. He loved the Mariners and Seahawks and didn’t miss any games. He loved playing cards and golfing with his buddies. John loved his family more than anything and he will be so greatly missed. Memorial services Friday, March 20, 2015, 3:00 p.m. in the Aspen Chapel at Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
