Tressa M. Shannon

October 15, 1923 - January 28, 2022

Tressa M. Shannon, born October 15th 1923, passed away peacefully January 28th, 2022. She was born in Tacoma, where she lived most of her life. Her first job was working in her parents restaurant. Next she worked at the old Olympic Hotel as a banquet waitress until the hotel closed. During this time she would always take off to work at the Puyallup fair. Her next long term employment was at Prescription Optical where she worked until her retirement. She also worked at the Tacoma Roller Bowl, where she worked in the snack bar for fun. In retirement she traveled to Arizona for the winter many times. She visited Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Mexico, and her favorite Hawaii. She and her husband joined the South Tacoma Eagles Club, she was elected President of the women's auxiliary 2933 which she served for two years. They were members for 25 years. She also volunteered at Tacoma General Hospital. Decorating for Christmas was won of her favorite things to do. In the sixty's there home was selected as third best in the city. Her love of kids, and animals made her smile through out her life she continued to offer her help to anyone in need. She was preceded in her death by her husband Martin of sixty years. Survived by sons, Lawrence, and Patrick, and wives Barbara, Suzanne; ,grandchildren Craig, Ashley, Janet, Darlene; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Cameron, Delaney, Madison, Dawson,and Jaxkson. A Special Thank You, to Spring Ridge Retirement home for their loving care of our mother in her last years of her life. Celebration of Life Services to be held at Mountain View Funeral Home Garden Chapel, March 5th, At 2P.M.
