Robert G. Myers
May 30, 1941 - July 24, 2021
80 years around the sun. Robert was born in York, Pennsylvania to Mellie Mae and Stuart David Myers where he was the youngest of 6: Gene (Ruth), Myers, Doris (Bob) James, Mary (Aaron) Hershey, Eleanor (Harry) Householder - whom have all preceded him in death - and Joyce (Joe) Newhouse. Robert was accepted to Penn State, but chose to serve his country instead in the US Army where he was a diesel mechanic. He was stationed at Fort Lewis Washington and that is where he met the love of his life Sharon (2009). He loved her their whole marriage of 45 years and beyond. Together, they had a beautiful family of four - Shasta, Michelle, Stuart (2002) (Cheryl) and Janine (Mike). He was a proud grandfather to 11: Journey (Ashley), Cassaundra, Easton, Raylene, Denver, Craig, Zack, Arayla, Julia, Cody, and Adrianna and an honored great-grandfather to four: Lilanna, Brimley, Lochlan, and Walker. He was a humble truck driver for 36 years at West Coast Grocery & an avid sportsman and hunter. His favorite stories were of his trips to British Columbia while bear and moose hunting and with his hunting crew in Republic WA. He was a longtime member of the American Legion and Elks Club. He loved everything ‘country’ from Westerns to Louis L’amour (once he finally figured out Netflix), and Longmire. His utmost favorite thing was his family and friends. He loved to have everyone over and have a big barbecue or dinner together. He wasn't here near long enough and is so terribly missed and incredibly loved. There's a massive hole in our hearts and lives. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, specifically brain and pancreatic research.
