Maurie passed peacefully away at the home of her daughter, Delores Ragazzo of Tacoma, Washington on June 4, 2021 at the age of 93. Her daughters lovingly cared for her during the last days of her life. On February 29, 1928 in Delta, Utah, Maurie was born. She was the eighth child of Henry James Evan Watts and Lyona Sproul. She was the last surviving child of their ten children. Maurie helped her mother with the family garden and loved going with her father while he tended the sheep. She loved it when he gave her a penny for candy. She married Cyril Hubert Nagel. They raised their family in Parkland, Washington. They blessed their children with their valuable lessons of industry, thrift and hard work. Her spirit is carried on by her five surviving children. Lorraine Nagel, Delores Ragazzo, Linda Perry, Marilyn Nagel and Vicki Keister and son-in-law, Arlie Keister, 16 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 7 great- great grandchildren. She is remembered by her daughters for her sewing matching Easter dresses. As a youngster of five years old, she cut fabric and sewed a dress for her doll. Her love of dolls resulted in going to many doll shows. The dolls she collected were outfitted with fancy colorful clothes that she sewed, crocheted, and knitted. She loved tending to her flowers which provided a wonderful fragrance welcoming everyone who entered the front door. Her passion for oil painting resulted in several landscape paintings which are admired by her family. Her grandchildren have fond memories of her fun chuckle, as well as her churning butter, shopping, fishing, picking blackberries, and camping. Three words that sum up her life are love, laughter, and life. A family service will be at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, Washington. She will be buried with her husband at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
