Marian E. Kellogg
April 22, 1929 - February 2, 2022
Marian passed away on Febuary 2nd after a short illness. She was born in Tacoma, Washington at St. Joseph's Hospital, 92 years ago. Marian grew up on McKinley Avenue attending Sheridan Elementary, Gault Jr. High and Lincoln High School class of 1947. She married Charles Kellogg in 1950. They made their home in South Tacoma where they raised their two daughters. Marian worked at the lunchroom in Mt. Tahoma High School for 13 years. In 1975 she went to work for the State Unemployment office in Lakewood for 10 years. In retirement Marian and Chuck enjoyed traveling and working in their garden. Marian is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Peggy and Randy Nix (Tacoma) and Nancy and Mark Woodhead (Kenai, Alaska). Grandchildren, Conrad Woodhead (Sherree), Jeffrey Nix (Janel), Shannon Dodge (Randy) and Kevin Nix. Great grandchildren, Carter and Jackson Woodhead, Teddy and Trey Dodge and Emmalene Nix. She also leaves behind her walking friends of many years Linda, Eileen and Heidi. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck of 46 years, her parents Ruth and Jay Blancher, her sisters Jenny Thomas and Dorothy Spaudling. The family would like to thank Bridgeport Place for the three years she lived there and Soundview Adult Care Center and staff for their loving care these past two months. A celebration of life is scheduled for Friday, March 11th at 12:00PM at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park with a Reception to Follow in the Willow Room.
