Sgt David Paul Wetch, 61 of Tacoma died peacefully in his home after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born in Tacoma, WA on February 1st 1957, and graduated from Mount Tahoma HS in 1976. He enlisted in the Army Read Obituary

David was a big part of my life in the 70s , hanging out with a special group of dear friends. Those were great times I will never forget. The smile and laugh that he had, but his stories he would tell were always colorful. I regret not re-connecting with him except for a few times over the years. I made a donation to fight this disease that took him from us. He is with other family members now. David loved his family so...
Will always remember the stories David told us on the long trips to go fishing. And will never forget being lost in the ocean David had helped us launch our boat. He had on my hip boots (they were to short) He wore them all day while worrying about us. He had to cut them off. He felt so bad an was really happy to see us all 3 days later when we made it back to shore.(Long story) Enjoyed many more fishing trips with David and his dad Paul. Pam , Dad and I spent a lot of time with Dave , he always made me laugh. He was a great friend and a member of our family. He was my brother. Save me some fish stories Dave. I'll miss you. Dave loved to throw Parties, and while he was stationed in Germany he had lots of friends. Although he didnt speak german fluently he always got his point across.
I will always treasure the memories and will never forget you.

Veteran, Friend, Dad and grandpa.... thank you to everyone who had such a positive impact in his life. He treasured every relationship.
My dad lived a full life. He battled many health issues for the last 21 years but never let it get him down. He’s inspired so many by how he carried himself. He was remarkable. We miss him terribly, and things won’t ever be the same without him, however he’s no longer hurting and is whole again. He deserves peace. ”I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day (Feb 26, 2018) and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8 Til we see each other again.
