Bruce Henry Adler

June 17th, 1943- January 11th, 2022, Spanaway, Washington Bruce Henry Adler went home to the lord on January 11th, 2022, while in the company of his wife Ronna, and his daughter Dawn. He was born in Tacoma on June 17th in 1943 to Henry and Kathryn Adler. Bruce spent his entire life living in Pierce County. Bruce graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961. From there he attended the University of Puget Sound as well as, Pacific Lutheran University earning a teaching degree in 1965. After college, he taught the sixth grade at Federal way's Lake Grove Elementary. In 1971, Bruce transferred to Bethel Jr High, were he taught US history, until he retired in 2011. While working at Bethel he started many programs, in the early 90's Bruce created a field trip taking students to DC. After retirement Bruce worked with World Strides to make sure students had the opportunity to visit our nation’s capital. Bruce was also a volunteer firefighter in Spanaway. Bruce had many passions, some of the biggest were teaching, caring for his animals, and most important family. Bruce married his wife, Ronna in the spring of 1963. Together they raised a family of three children. Bruce is survived by his wife of 58 years, his children Steve (Carol), Scott (Buster), Dawn (Shaun), 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. The effect that Bruce had on the community is widespread and will last for generations. He will be greatly missed from everyone that had the honor to meet him. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
