Aurora Kese

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Aurora O. Kese on March 18, 2022. Aurora was born in the Philippines on March 1, 1942. She came to the United States in October 1996 and has lived in Tacoma since then. Aurora is a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Rose Ocampo and six grandchildren: Bibiano Junior Laplana, Joanna Allocca (Rick), JohnRay Laplana, Marvin Laplana, Reymark Laplana, and Christian Laplana. Great grandchildren: Jamaica Laplana, Jake Marcus Laplana, John Matty Laplana, and Raffael Matteo Ocampo. Also survived by her siblings, Siony Seastres, Nestor Ocampo (Norma), Gloria Franco (Romeo) and Socorro Trapp (Robert). Predeceased by her son, Mateo Laplana; husband, Arnold Kese; and parents, Bibiano J. and Marciana DeOcampo. Aurora was an accomplished seamstress and housewife. She was a loving, caring and selfless person who worked hard all her life to provide for her family. She had a beautiful smile that lit up the room when she walked in. She was very thrifty and enjoyed shopping at garage sales. She loved to travel and enjoyed experiencing new places. She was always present at any and all family celebrations. She regularly attended events at the Filipino Senior Center, where she loved to dance and socialized with friends.
