Auntie Pat played a huge role in my growing up. She and Allen moved to Steilacoom when I was just entering my "tweens." I spent a lot of time at their home, combing through books, playing with the miniature cast iron stove under the stairs, and talking at the kitchen table. I often watched her bake, picking up tips as she went along. I still have treasured recipes in my recipe box that I got from her. Without Auntie Pat's example and guidance, I would not be the woman I am today. I am forever grateful to have been blessed with such a wonderful aunt.
