I grew up with harlin, we met when we were about six years old, his dad and mom sister and brother moved in across the street from us and my brother and myself met harlin and his family, they had moved here from southern california,wewent to school together and did everything together, played sports and got into our share of trouble together too.there were no angels among us.we finally joined the U.S.ARMY in june 1971 and went to basic training at fort leonard wood mo. it was a hell of a goodtime in our lives that we both needed, after basic training harlin went on to fort lee virginia and i went home on leave, we met up again two weeks later in virginia, after ait in virginia, harlin went on to fort ord ca, and i went to fort carson co. i wouldn't hear from harlin again until one day when i was in Korea, the phone rang and it was Harlin calling from yougsong Korea, about 65 miles from where i was stationed, i took a bus down to see him that weekend and the party was on in Korea,harlin got out of the army in 1974 and so did i.
