Don and Carol knew me before I was ever even born. I has so many memories of them both. I still hear his voice in my head giving me advice thru childhood and into adulthood. I didn't realize how amazing he really was until I had to teach my kids how to drive. I called him up and said how on Earth did you do this? He said well it helped a lot to have a brake and wheel on my side of the car too. I will miss him dearly.
As long as I live, I will never forget the TeePee Uncle Donald made for us kids. It was like being in an episode of Bonanza. Charlie and Dixie were the ponies we rode. I remember Andrew riding Charlie (I was leading) and didn’t realize the clothes line was in the way. Poor Andrew fell off of Charlie. I still feel a twinge of guilt just thinking about it. The light of Jesus Christ shone brightly through him.
Mr. Gray and I shared the birthday of May 2nd. I had him for art classes at Fife High, I am a 1983 graduate, and to this day I have and treasure a beautiful pottery vase that he created in 1975. It is a signed and dated piece and I will always cherish it. I actually had to wait until 2013 to have it in my home as my Mother loved it too and displayed it in her home until she passed away. It has been a true blessing knowing Don and his family for so many years. I will always remember out times watching Andrew and Rick playing basketball and our yelling at the refs (who missed all the calls)! Don was a true gentleman and will always remember his sense of humor. Heaven is rejoicing as His faithful servant entered through the gates. RIP and eternal rest, Don. Well done my faithful servant!
